We're getting back into the swing of things post-Nashville Fashion Week, and it would feel unfinished without writing a little love letter of gratitude to this city we hold so dear.
This was Fauxgerty's third year sponsoring NFW, and we must say 2019 might've outdone itself. Major props to NFW co-founder and managing partner, Marcia Masulla.
We were beyond honored to have our CEO + founder, Chrissy Fogerty, be on the panel of the first-ever Sustainable Summit, hosted at OneC1ty by none other than the creator of New York Fashion Week, Fern Mallis.
As Fern mentioned during the conversation, "Sustainability is the new black.” Ethical clothing is a non-negotiable mainstay now that we're aware of the unkind practices of fast-fashion, and are beginning to witness the toll it's taking on our planet.
Didn't get to attend the sold-out summit? Lucky for you, it was live streamed courtesy of Middle Tennessee State University. Catch the entire conversation here.
A note from Chrissy about the event: "Thank you NFW for inviting me to speak at the Sustainability Summit and to Fern Mallis for leading such a thoughtful and insightful conversation. I'm honored to create space for such an important topic and continue to learn, discuss, and remain committed to our brand, our environment, and our ethos. Be sure to dive into the other panels at the summit, @livefashionable, @onpointmfg, and @vanhoangthelabel. I'm so grateful to have shared the stage with you!”
Another shout out to ABLE who invited us to pop-up in their space for #WhyNFW the Shop Nashville! Mad props to Julia who manned the shopping event. And last but not least, thanks to all of you lovely Nashvillians who came out to visit and shop sustainably.
We whirled in and out of Nash within a 72-hour timespan, but here are a few local standbys we'd be remiss not to mention:
We loved zipping up and down 12 South to pop into some of our favorite retailers, like Emerson Grace. Swing through and tell Kimberly “hello” from a faux fan!
Our favorite place to stay is at The Thompson, which is located in the Gulch— such a perfect spot for walkability.
Hands down one of our top favorite picks for coffee in Nashville is Steadfast. It was the only latte that tasted good to Chrissy while she was pregnant, and that’s saying quite a lot! Be sure to go when the weather is nice and sip al fresco.
