Sure, you could call this a breakfast “shake,” but it’s so thick and creamy (especially blended with frozen blackberries) that we serve it as a smoothie bowl, topped with more blackberries. Or chia seeds. Or bee pollen. Or anything else we’re craving.
The inspiration for our Blackberry Breakfast Shake recipe comes from Anna Beck, who needed a pre-workout smoothie that would keep her fueled all morning. “I made this before a bootcamp last weekend,” Beck says on her food blog Urban.Apron. “It sustained me with just enough energy to get through Insanity, yoga and lots of walking. So you could say that I highly recommend this one before an active day!”
